Dec 13th, 2011 It didn’t take James McFadden long to bounce back from his second round World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship disappointment, after he rocketed to victory lane in the third round last Saturday night at Mildura’s Timmis Speedway in Victoria. along with his valued sponsors: Totally Workwear Midland & VIC Park, Western Diamond Drillers, AUS FUEL GULL, Lucas Oil Products Inc, Allstar Performance, Astro Titanium, KRE Race Engines, OMP, Racer Industries and COOL Chassis, for all of their ongoing support in the 2011/12 season.
As a result of winning the third round of the WSS Championship, which was his second victory from three rounds, he has now moved into the lead of the overall point standings. Certainly not a bad effort when you take into consideration that he is not a non-contracted driver and that he crashed out of the second round’s feature race in spectacular fashion on the opening lap the weekend prior at Dubbo’s Morris Park Speedway. McFadden, who started the feature race from pole position by virtue of winning the Top 8 pole shootout after going into it as the eighth highest point scorer, paid homage to the efforts of his crew chief Glen Beaton in tuning of the NQ # 25 Totally Workwear Midland & VIC Park supported COOL. “Glen [Beaton] did a great job with my car all night, as he setup it very well and in the feature race it allowed me to run basically wherever I wanted on the track,” commented the former Australian Championship winner, who moved into the lead on the ninth lap and was never headed from then onwards. “The track widened up a bit in the feature race, so due to my car being setup nicely it enabled me to venture up where a lot of the others weren’t.” It turned out to be a consistent night for McFadden that resulted in the best possible result. He had qualified 10th in time trials earlier in the night and then earned the final spot in the Top 8 pole shootout by moving forward in both of his heat races and finishing in fourth and third place respectively. Regarded as his favourite track, McFadden will make his first appearance next Saturday night (December 17) at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway in Victoria for the latest round of the SRA Series. The WSS Championship will resume on Boxing Night (December 26) at Adelaide’s Speedway City in South Australia for what will be the opening round of the gruelling Speedweek Series. McFadden would like to thank his car owner Scott Milling, parents Dave and Tania, and crew chief Glen Beaton, along with his valued sponsors: Totally Workwear Midland & VIC Park, Western Diamond Drillers, AUS FUEL GULL, Lucas Oil Products Inc, Allstar Performance, Astro Titanium, KRE Race Engines, OMP, Racer Industries and COOL Chassis, for all of their ongoing support in the 2011/12 season.
