LAS VEGAS (March 25) - Nothing is going to damper Lucas Oil/MAVTV Pro Stock driver Larry Morgan's attitude when the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series heads to the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals, March 28-30 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The Ford Mustang driver is betting it all on himself to take home the win this weekend, but before he can do that, Morgan knows qualifying well is his best hope at making his dream a reality.

"Obviously, I want to take home the Wally, but I feel that way every weekend," Morgan said. "Realistically, though, I want to qualify well and give it the best shot I've got. I firmly believe that if we make good runs and everything goes our way, we can easily go a few rounds in Las Vegas. The whole team and I are really looking forward to seeing what we can do."

In a sport that is highly competitive and every little gain is a major game changer, Morgan is poised to make a statement in Las Vegas. The entire Lucas Oil/MAVTV team has been searching for that one thing to turn the season around, and now they feel like they have hit the jackpot before even arriving in Las Vegas.

"So far this season we've made a lot of changes on the Ford Mustang," Morgan said. "It's been a game of trying to maintain what we already have while trying to work on new things already in progress.

"We learned a lot after racing in Gainesville, and we feel confident in applying those changes to the car for the rest of the season. It's those long-term improvements that get you really excited to head to the next race and show off what you can do. Because of that, we are really looking forward to heading to Las Vegas."

Morgan is ready to take to The Strip and show off his Mustang when qualifying begins at 1:30 p.m. PST, Friday, and continues that day with another session at 4:30 p.m. Qualifying will wrap up with two sessions at 1:10 and 3:50 p.m., Saturday. Final eliminations start at noon, Sunday. ESPN2 will air the qualifying show at 5 p.m. EDT, Sunday, and the eliminations show at 8 p.m.
