"Took a trip to the Georgia mountains from Florida in mid August of this year and my 2006 Suburban developed a loud chirping/metal on metal noise emanating from the bottom of the engine when the engine would get to operating temperature. Drove it to 5 different Chevy Dealers and ASE Certified shops who all told me I needed a new camshaft/lifters or a new engine. They quoted me prices of $3500-$7500. Had the oil changed as soon as I returned home to Florida and the noise was still there.
