Patison Finished on Podium at I-10 Speedway

Jason Patison and team traveled to Blythe California on April 19th, for round 3 of the Lucas Oil Modified Series. Patison's STR Chevrolet was fast right off the trailer but was hit with some very uncommon mechanical failures during the weekend.

"Mechanical failures are just part of racing but we had some really weird stuff go wrong, we had the float in brand new carburetor break and then we had the stud that holds our air cleaner sheer off and I lost the whole cleaner assembly while I was running down the straightaway, " said a half-amused Patison right before qualifying.

Despite the trouble and wasted time during practice, Patison's crew got the car dialed in and he turned his best lap of the day in qualifying, placing him 4th entrants for the start of the 75 lap main event.

In the main event Patison's car was fast but was loose on entry. Patison ran up front and gained 1 position but was not able to carry the corner speed needed to challenge for the lead. The finish was Patison's first podium of the young season and it moved him up to 5th place in the championship point standings.

Patison will shift gears and take his NASCAR Super Late Model out for its first race of the year on May 3rd at Irwindale Speedway.
