Lucas Oil Names Michael Farabaugh Head of New Motorcycle Division

Indianapolis, Indiana (February 25, 2016) - Lucas Oil Products, Inc., a world leader in developing advanced motor oils and other lubricants for competition, high-performance, stock motorcycles and off-road all-terrain vehicles, both 2 wheeled and 4 wheeled, is pleased to announce the appointment of long-time motorcycle safety, education and rider rights advocate Michael Farabaugh as Director of its newly formed Lucas Oil Motorcycle Division.

"I am honored that Forrest Lucas and his team have selected me to head up what is, in effect, a brand new executive-level division within Lucas," Farabaugh said. "For more than a quarter century, Lucas has been researching, developing and manufacturing products that have extended the life and improved the performance of millions of motorcycles. They have also helped grow the sport by investing heavily in developing motorcycle programming for cable and network TV and by sponsoring numerous on track and off-road motorcycle events, racing teams and series."

"Lucas has always been deeply committed to supporting all aspects of motorcycling and the international family of motorcycle riders," Farabaugh added. "In starting this new division, we are not just reconfirming our commitment to motorcycling now and in the future, we are expanding it." A member of the American Motorcycle Association Hall of Fame and the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame, Farabaugh is also an original inductee into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. For 50 years, Michael Farabaugh has been living a major portion of his life on two wheels and has been professionally and personally invested in protecting the lives and freedoms of riders for more than four decades. Michael along with his wife, Debby Farabaugh, has also hosted a motorcycle radio show for 5 years.

In 1980 Michael graduated from the first Motorcycle Safety Foundation Chief Instructor Program. He and his wife Debby, also an MSF instructor, have taught the MSF’s legendary package of survival skills to thousands of riders and instructor trainees from coast to coast. As a long time CEO and Executive Director of ABATE of Indiana, founder of the Meeting of the Minds and member of the American Motorcycle Association’s Board of Directors, he successfully lobbied many state legislatures into giving publically funded rider training parity with driver education in obtaining vehicle operator licenses.

"I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Michael on special projects several years before asking him to join Lucas Oil full time", Lucas Oil CEO Forrest Lucas said. "In everything he’s done, from testifying before the U.S. Senate in support of biker rights to organizing massive fund-raisers for our local children’s hospital, he impressed me with his professionalism, attention to detail and ability to organize and motivate people."

Forrest went on to say: "Aside from all those qualifications, he and his wife have ridden over a million miles on motorcycles using Lucas Oil and other lubricants. If you want a textbook example of a person who’s a perfect fit for heading up the Lucas Oil Motorcycle Division, Michael Farabaugh is the man." As Motorcycle Division Director, Farabaugh, also an accomplished photographer whose images of bikes, rides, roads and riders have appeared in dozens of internationally circulated magazines, calendars and posters, will be in charge of both dealer and consumer relations for the Lucas Oil line of motorcycle products and putting together a team of professionals to promote and sell the products.

Michael has set some ambitious goals to get Lucas Oil Motorcycle Products in front of retailers and the general public. A few of the action items include:
